Big problem right out the gate: magic in Earthdawn collects around your Name. Names are important. Your Name is literally key, not only to your legend, but to your magical powers. If nobody knows his name, he has no magical powers. He is not an adept, he is an ordinary person with no magic. All PCs are adepts, so he's either not a PC or he needs a Name!

A few questions!

What languages do you speak and read/write? I'm assuming the free two are Throalic (Dwarven) and Human, as is typical, but what's the third?

You'll want to change the way your stats are recorded so they show the step. They'll look like this:
Dex: 15/6
Str: 10/5
Tou: 13/6
Per: 16/7
Will: 11/5
Cha: 14/6

Init: 6
PD: 9
MD: 9
SD: 8
PA: 0 (You'll buy Physical Armor as part of your gear)
MA: 2

What do those letters mean?:

Carrying Capacity: 80
Movement: 12
Karma: 5

Unconsciousness Rating: 31
Death Rating: 37
Wound Threshold: 9
Recovery Tests: 3

You also start with the following gear: Adventurer’s Kit (backpack, bedroll, flint & steel, torch, waterskin, large sack), Dagger or knife (or a similar Size 1 or 2 weapon), Traveler’s Garb (soft boots, shirt, belt, robe or breeches, traveler’s cloak), Trail Rations (1 week), 100 silver pieces

I recommend you buy a belt pouch (8 copper), as well as armor, shield, and weapon. You mentioned wanting a crossbow before. You are not strong enough to wield a medium crossbow (you need a Strength of 12 for that), so it would have to be a light crossbow. That costs 50 silver and has the following stats:

  • Damage 4 (plus Strength step), Size 3, Short range 2-32, Long range 33-64, Weight 5.

You will want to buy bolts to go with that, and it is necessary to track your ammunition. 15 bolts costs 16 silver and weighs 3.

A crossbow can be wielded one-handed, though you need the other hand somewhat free to be able to slap another bolt into place. You can do that while wearing a buckler, which is the best kind of shield for you. You have two choices there:

  • Buckler: Physical Defense +1, Mystic Defense +1, Initiative Penalty 0, Shatter Threshold 17, Cost 5, Weight 3
  • Crystal Buckler: Physical Defense +1, Mystic Defense +1, Initiative Penalty 0, Shatter Threshold 17, Cost 50, Weight 3

You have a few choices for armor.

  • Hardened Leather: Physical Armor +5, Mystic Armor +0, Initiative Penalty 0, Cost 40, Weight 20
  • Hide Armor: Physical Armor +5, Mystic Armor +1, Initiative Penalty 1, Cost 50, Weight 25
  • Leather: Physical Armor +3, Mystic Armor +0, Initiative Penalty 0, Cost 10, Weight 15
  • Padded Cloth: Physical Armor +2, Mystic Armor +0, Initiative Penalty 0, Cost 2, Weight 5
  • Padded Leather: Physical Armor +4, Mystic Armor +0, Initiative Penalty 0, Cost 20, Weight 20

We also need your Way. As a Scout, how do you view the world? What is your philosophy on life?

The really cool part about The Fox is how no one will ever team up with him, because he can't be trusted, and how he doesn't have any magic despite having the adept spark, because he can't grow his legend. Also how his first trainer calls him Tim, and regrets ever having taken him under his wing despite the fact that he could have trained an actual Scout to do actual Scout-Things. Because he can't give a name or an introduction he's widely regarded to be Horror Marked.

You don't appear to be reading the things I'm posting in Discord, Gary. I'll reproduce them here for you.

re:
Try to consider other people when you're making your character. This is not a 'beer and pretzels game'. Roleplaying is not for everyone, and the tin really should say '15yrs and up'. Get to know the setting and the basic rules of the system and come up with an idea for a character. Post it up here on the discord and I'll give you some advice. Earthdawn has a rich and awesome history, and the setting is full of really cool little things to give you ideas for how to play and what to play. I suggest you tool around online and look for a copy of the Denizens of Barsaive (Volume one and two) and read ... well read the whole thing. But really focus on the section for the race you want to play.

Try to make mature decisions, and don't be a tool.

re:
Also, names are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT in Earthdawn. Fireheart is a descriptive name. Humans don't name their children descriptive names. You get a descriptive name by doing something amazing that the people start recognizing you for. If you leapt into a burning house to rescue the Book of Tomorrow and save the people of your village they might call you "Gareth, Heart of the Flames", but they would do it in a huge ceremony. If you adressed yourself as Fireheart, your legend would start to shift and change, and you would lose ALL YOUR MAGIC POWERS, and start to get new ones. Humans use a single Phonic name, just a sound. Not Tom Baker, but Tom. Rell. Adel. Braze, Carn, Delph, Eli, Finn, Gareth, Hesh, Ivor, Jered, Kedrik, Loren, Mott, Nero, Oren, Pip, Quern, Rivan, Serik, Tem, Uverivad, Vorst, Wexer, Xeon, Yarrin, Zeke...

Humming is not an artisan skill.
